Boy Scouts of America

Troop 505

Tracy , California

Training a few good men since 1963.

Troop 505 is a high-adventure troop that stresses traditional Boy Scout values including patriotism, strong individual character, self-reliance, citizenship, and leadership. Our outdoor program trains scouts in summer and winter camping, backpacking, and survival skills during trips to the beautiful Sierra Nevada Mountains. We also take lake and river canoe trips each year.   Numerous community service projects allow our scouts to give back to our community and learn the importance of good citizenship.   On Memorial Day and Independence Day, scouts participate in special events and develop an appreciation of our heritage.

Post 505 is open to older scouts.   This is a "Living History" post that participates in several Civil War reenacting events each year. Participation in the post is an excellent opportunity to learn about life during that difficult period in our nation's history.   We often accept invitations from schools to present Living History demonstrations to students.

These web pages will give you a sense of what Troop 505 is all about.   Please contact us for additional information.
